The Weisser Schweizer Schäferhund, or Berger Blanc Suisse, or White Swiss Shepherd, was considered to be a mutation of the German Shepherd, until recently when it was finally considered a separate breed after continuous campaigning from White Shepherd enthusiasts over recent decades.
Although this breed is currently only recognised by the FCI and the UKC, there are massive efforts underway to ensure this breed achieves worldwide recognition as being separate and most importantly, distinctive from the German Shepherd breed.
