VW Beetle 16 Month 2012 Calendar. Originally called the Volkswagen Type 1 the Beetle is possibly one of the most successful economy cars ever produced. The Beetle has been in production continuously since 1938 and although production long since stopped in many parts of the world the old style Beetle did not completely stop being produced until 2003. Since the original designs demise, VW have introduced the "New Beetle" its design based more on the popular Volkswagen Golf platform, however, still bearing a strong resemblance to the original popular design.
