There sleek Flat-coat was the favoured dog of British gamekeepers during the early part of the 20th century. Unfortunately, with the advent of Labradors and Golden Retrievers, they were virtually extinct by World War II.
Today's handsome, humorous breed, is fashionable once more as a gundog and is a superb flusher, and an excellent land and water retriever.
