Australian Shepherd 16 Month 2012 Calendar. The Australian Shepherd Dog is virtually unknown outside of the US where its popularity is growing strongly because of its obedient and willing nature as well as its good looks. This breed was originally bred as a working shepherd specifically suited to the varied climate of California.
The dogs are generally affectionate and playful whilst always maintaining a basic working instinct. There are some plans by breeders to continue to selectively breed these dogs in a hope that they can reduce their size further.
