Leicester Tigers 2011 Calendar. Leicester Tigers Rugby Union Football Club was formed in 1880 after a meeting was held in the city’s George Hotel. The team was the result of three smaller teams merging; Leicester Societies AFC, Leicester Amateur FC and Leicester Alert. The team play at Welford Road and have done since 1892 when the stadium held just 1,100 spectators.
