Burmese Cats 16 Month 2012 Calendar. The Burmese cat is a domesticated shorthaired cat which descended from Wong Mau, who was a female cat found in Burma in the 1930’s by Dr Joseph Thompson. Wong Mau was later brought to San Francisco where she was bred with selected Siamese males.
This selective breeding programme eventually created the now popular Burmese breed which has a distinctive shorthaired coat and large gold / yellow eyes.
